Hi, I'm MariannA. A boy mom, wife, teacher, and mom advocate.
If you are here, it is because you are overwhelmed and stressed in motherhood. When you have a child, you are juggling way more than just clothing sizes and mealtimes. You are juggling emotions, learning disabilities, temperament, coping styles, aversions, behaviour, and the list can go on.
OohMotherhood is about redefining childcare in motherhood. Moms are not childcare assistants. They are the primary caretaker, yet their needs and battles in childcare remain unnoticed and invalidated by society. I created this blog for moms who feel 👁️🗨️ invisible, helpless, and alone raising their kids: Kids don't fit in a perfect square box. They don't just simply grow with some water and sunlight. They require time, patience, and energy. A Mom's caretaking role and children remain a mother`s problem. This blog helps empower and support you in several ways 💡:
Lastly, OohMotherhood is an extension of me. So naturally, you can find my personal blog shares here: tips on parenting, relationships, and life! I hope this space will encourage you and help you because you are without a doubt an amazing mom.
I never knew how much perseverance it took to be a mother until I became one. In my son's first five years of life, I learned to deal with temperament, coping styles, language development disorders, fine motor delays and food aversions. As a mom, having a helpless feeling while navigating motherhood was a daily challenge. I quickly learned that to overcome and adapt to my journey of life, I needed access to educational tools and resources. My background in social services and education helped shape my resourcefulness. But my son enriched my life, by making me persevere for the answers.
In feeling alone in my struggles and seeing the lack of attention towards mom with childcare, I created this free resource blog to help empower you in being resourceful. The best part, you get a part of me and also the resource hub because
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”.
