OohMotherhood empowers mothers (new and veteran) by connecting them to resources, education, & mom coaches.
Additionally, we disempower taboos in motherhood by raising awareness on motherhood challenges with mental illness, addictions, invisible disabilities, loss, and so forth. OohMotherhood believes in networking with mothers across the world because we all have a lot to gain by being interconnected with each other. Talking allows people to spread information. Information creates programs and laws to shift. Join OohMotherhood, if you want to be part of a community of truth. Because as you all know, there is strength in numbers.
I never knew how much perseverance it took to be a mother until I became one. In my son's first five years of life, I learned to deal with temperament, coping styles, learning disabilities, language disorder and sensory aversions. As a mom, feeling helpless in moments of uncertainty was the absolute worst feeling. I quickly learned that to take back my power in my motherhood journey, I needed access to educational tools and resources. My background in social services and education helped shape my resourcefulness. But my son enriched my life, by making me persevere for the answers. Motherhood taught me to speak my truth and to encourage other mothers to do the same. It taught me that even though I am a woman, I do not have to accept the superwoman fallacy. My feminist values served me well in my 20s. Today, in my 30s, I have taken a branch off of her tree and define myself as a mominist: A mother who fights for mother and children's rights.
feminist parenting or Mominist parenting?
“A chain is only as strong as its weakest link but the anchor never breaks”
― Kevin Jeater
A strong mother comes from a collective community that is truthful. There is power in truth and not weakness. If our female community is made of weak links, we will not have a solid anchor, resulting in a divided society.
Ooh Motherhood, aims to provide these chains for all moms by speaking about real issues, providing tools, and connecting women.
